Celebrate Banned Books Week and the freedom to read in this unique book club where you read a challenged book of your choice. We'll meet on Wednesday, September 21, to share a bit about our books and why they were either challenged or banned. Need an idea of what to read? Check out this list of Banned Books for Kids.
About Banned Books Week: Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. Banned Books Week was launched in 1982 in response to a sudden surge in the number of challenges to books in schools, bookstores and libraries. Typically held during the last week of September, it highlights the value of free and open access to information. Please register. Ages 7–12.
