Green Peeps Book Club: The Triumph of Seeds

Downtown Library
Meeting Room 1B
Join this book club to discuss nature-focused reads each month. You'll also learn how to become more ecologically-minded through activities or speakers designed to enhance our reading.

This month, we'll be making native seed nuggets with Mary Welz from Sycamore Land Trust and reading The Triumph of Seeds by Thor Hanson.  This book is for both longtime plant lovers and the leaf-curious. Hanson guides his readers through a menagerie of seeds and how their influence has impacted human activity, and vice versa. The author balances delivering information and enjoyable writing to his audience, taking special care to detail the beauty and wonder contained in something as simple as a seed. The Triumph of Seeds will have you looking at apple seeds and corn kernels with more reverence than before.

Age 18 and up. Please register.
