Bedräk Cafe is a local brunchenette and juicery located at 409 S. Walnut Street in Bloomington's Downtown Commercial District. Their mission is to be a local destination to create a unique experience by bringing you one-of-a-kind dishes authentically prepared with fresh, local ingredients and original homemade recipes. Just show your flyer and Bedräk Cafe will donate 20% of your bill (excluding alcohol) to the Friends of the Library to help make all of our amazing Library programs possible.

Caregiver University: A Positive Approach to Care

This workshop focuses on Positive Approach to Care "care partnering" techniques, including Positive Physical Approach™ (PPA) and Hand Under Hand™ (HUH). These newly learned skills enable care partners to shift from simply "dealing with the behaviors" to creating a positive and caring environment. Learners develop observational skills needed to recognize signals of “unmet needs and growing distress” in the person they care for and respond in a way that reduces anxiety and improves quality of life. Age 18 and up. Please register.

This program is in partnership with Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Service with Indiana University Health.

VITAL English Language Group: Conversation with Tom Bitters

New English speakers will practice everyday language skills in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. Learners will enjoy friendly conversation, learn about daily life in the U.S., gain confidence, and meet new people from around the world. 

Intermediate English skills are suggested. If you do not speak English, please fill out the VITAL Services form to learn about programs for beginners. Conversation Groups are drop-in and no registration is needed.
