Green Peeps Book Club: Prodigal Summer

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Downtown Library
Meeting Room 1B
Join this book club to discuss nature-focused reads each month. You'll also learn how to become more ecologically-minded through activities and speakers designed to enhance our reading. Join us at the Library for leaf pounding on fabric while we discuss Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver.

Summary:
Prodigal Summer takes place over a sprawling, humid summer in the Appalachian Mountains. Kingsolver writes three love stories that weave into the natural world into the lives of humans living within it. A wildlife biologist, an entomologist and an elderly man working to restore the extinct American Chestnut tree swap perspectives in this story of love amidst people having differing viewpoints on how to be in relation with the land and its creatures. It’s the perfect book for the high summer season.

Age 18 and up. Please register.
