The Library's Quaranzine is a community-response zine compiling the community's thoughts, feelings, and reactions surrounding the current situation of quarantine, social distancing, and living in these uncertain times. Each month, September–December, you're invited to contribute art in the form of an 8.5”x5.5” page of words and/or images about this topic. Submissions are open for the first three weeks of each month at quaranzine@mcpl.info. Submissions will be compiled and posted to the zine website at the end of each month. Age 12 and up.

Virtual Storytime: Freight Train & Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes

Join us for a fun (and short!) preschool storytime. For this colorful program Kim reads Freight Train, rhymes Rainbow Kittens, and sings Pete the Cat! Rhymes, songs, and a story help preschoolers practice early literacy skills.  Geared to ages 2–6, but all ages are welcome!

New English speakers practice everyday language skills in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. Learners enjoy friendly conversation, learn about daily life in the US, gain confidence, and meet new people from around the world.  The Book Club is currently reading Short Stories.

While we can't meet for Talking Tacos, the Library has partnered with Middle Way House to do an Ask Me Anything-style event. Fill out this form with your questions about relationships, dating, or any other tough topics, then tune into the Zoom meeting to hear the answers. You do not have to submit a question to attend this program. Please register with your first name and last initial only (do not enter email or phone number) to preserve anonymity. This program will be recorded for future viewing on the Library's YouTube channel. Attendees will be able to see and hear the presenters, but audio and video for attendees will be disabled to preserve anonymity.
