Read to Gaston and Eliza Mae
All Branches
Learn about the importance of reading aloud to young children and help beginner readers find and practice reading books that build independent reading skills. Reading to an animal can help a reluctant, new, or struggling reader build confidence and self-esteem. Miss Amy will read a page from her favorite beginner reader to her cats, then invite your child to take their turn to read to the cats. Questions? Email Miss Amy at acaswell@mcpl.info. All ages.

Please register so Miss Amy can email you a copy of a page your children can practice reading, along with a tip sheet for helping your children learn to read. Your child can also choose to read their favorite book to Miss Amy's cats.

*** This virtual program may be viewed on the Library's YouTube channel, premiering October 9 at 4 PM. It will be archived and available on the same YouTube channel thereafter. ***
