Recreate the classic folktale of Hansel and Gretel for a chance to win a $75 gift card to Baked! of Bloomington! Read the story with your family, asking your kids to listen for the most important characters, events, and plot points. Then, work together to get creative with your interpretation and find a fun way to retell the story in ten photos or less. Post your photo story to Instagram or Facebook by November 30 to enter to win. To qualify, you must tag Cardinal Stage (@cardinalstage) and use the hashtag #cardinalchallenge. You can use Hoopla to find various eBook versions of Hansel and Gretel instantly available, such as Hansel and Gretel: A Fairy Tale with a Down Syndrome Twist. All ages. Compose Yourself: Group Therapy for NaNoWriMo Writers Hangout Session

Every November, National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) challenges writers to write a 50,000-word novel in 30 days. Whether this is your first try or your tenth, these weekly hangouts can help you get advice, meet other local writers, play games, and take a much-needed breather. Registered participants will receive a NaNoWriMo survival kit which includes supplies, a month-long game, and the opportunity to win a grand prize (while supplies last)! On December 10, you'll celebrate your accomplishments at the virtual Thank Goodness It's Over party. Age 15 and up. 

*** Please register with a valid email address once for The Kickoff Event; once for all Hangout sessions; and once for the Thank Goodness It's Over Party (a total of three registrations). Links for each Zoom session will be emailed to you upon registration***

Positive Parenting: A Bloomington Montessori Parenting Workshop

Looking for strategies to keep a balance of "kind and firm" with children at home? Bloomington Montessori staff discuss and demonstrate respectful communication and problem solving strategies to model and teach children, ages 3-12. Following the presentation, there will be opportunities for break-out sessions and time for questions and answers. Parents will leave with a toolbox of phrases and activities to use at home. This workshop will be presented via Zoom and recorded by Bloomington Montessori staff. Participants are welcome to keep their video off during the workshop. For parents and caregivers.
