Everyone Has a Story Reading Challenge

Everyone Has a Story Reading Challenge
All Branches
Stories provide insight. Whether it's a personal narrative, description of cultural heritage, or an imagined fantasy, an individual's story provides insights into who they are and what shapes and inspires them. Shared stories help us see what makes us unique and how we are the same. By reading or listening to an individual's story, we can learn to treat people with the respect and dignity they deserve no matter their race, color, gender, religion, ability, or level of income. Discover different stories, learn about people seeking to eliminate social injustices, and find resources for discussing issues about race. All ages.

Find out more about participating with a Beanstack account at mcpl.info/everystory.

3D Print Lab for Tweens

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
3D Print Lab for Tweens
All Branches
Guided by an instructional video that we'll send to you on March 12, you'll use free 3D modeling software (Tinkercad) at home to design your own customized item to print. We'll provide instructions for emailing your design file to us between March 12–22, so your design can be printed in the Library. Once your design is printed, it will be yours to keep! Ages 7–12. Please register (with a valid, non-school email address) only if you have time to complete and send your design to the Library by March 22, as space is limited. Kids should be able to complete the project on their own but may benefit from adult help. To create the design, kids will need to be able to use a mouse. The instructional video will inform them about the various tools available in Tinkercad, many of which are similar to other computer software where you can draw or create shapes. Participants will be notified when the print is ready to pick up. Please allow 3–4 weeks.
