D&D Library Talk is our podcast on the ins and outs of RPG systems, like Dungeons and Dragons! We talk about how to make sure everyone enjoys the game, whether as a player or game master. Episode six focuses on different sources of inspiration for a D&D game, with an emphasis on free resources available at the library or online. We also briefly share our personal favorite sources of inspiration.

All-Ages Summer Reading Program: Tails and Tales

Read for fun, complete activities, and earn tickets towards prize drawings! Our summer reading games are a fun and free way to engage all age groups in exploring new ideas, books, and activities. Register online and between June 1 and August 1, you can earn points for every 30 minutes you spend reading and for trying different activities. At different point levels, you become eligible to earn badges and prizes.

Register and learn more about the various categories and prizes for children (ages birth–12), teens (ages 12–19), and adults (age 18 and up).

There will be a community-wide reading goal of 1,000,000 minutes, resulting in a $1,000 donation from the Friends of the Library to Monroe County Humane Association!

Tiny drivers have the green light to view every type of vehicle imaginable, including the Library's Bookmobile! Check out fire trucks, ambulances, buses, bucket trucks, tractors, and more at this annual event. To maintain social distancing, participants will not be allowed to climb inside any of the vehicles but will receive fun take-home activities. For all ages, but geared toward ages 1–10. This event takes place at Winslow Sports Complex, 2800 S. Highland Avenue, Bloomington.

New English speakers practice everyday language skills in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. Learners enjoy friendly conversation, learn about daily life in the US, gain confidence, and meet new people from around the world.  The Book Club is currently reading Lord of the Flies by William Golding.
