1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a program encouraging you to read 1,000 books with your child before they start kindergarten. The program is self-paced and you decide how often and how long you will read to your child. It can take anywhere from a few months to a few years. When you register for the program, you can come pick up a welcome packet, including a finger puppet and physical reading logs to color in! There will also be occasional surprises throughout the game, like stickers, a halfway-there certificate, and more (you can even earn a happy dance with a librarian)! When you finish the program, you’ll receive a graduation certificate, an invite to a quarterly themed storytime, a free book, and a farm friend adoption kit (just a stuffie, not a real one). Sign up online.

Dine out at BJ's Restaurant and enjoy 18 signature flavors of delicious handcrafted pizza in Tavern-Cut, Deep Dish, or gluten free styles. BJ’s offers a variety of delicious soups, salads, handcrafted burgers, tasty sandwiches, tacos, and “enlightened” entrees. Finish off your meal with the world famous Pizookie!

Show your flyer when you dine at BJ's, and the Friends will receive 20% of what you spend on food and soft beverages from 11 am - 10 pm Wednesdays, October 13 and 20 and Thursdays, October 14 and 21. Your dining brings funds to your public library to make every day full of opportunities for so many in our community.

Dine in, take out, or curbside pickup. Simply show your flyer available at library kiosks or print from our website. Your dining out has brought in more than $27,000 for the Library! The Friends of the Library thanks you for enjoying all that great food. Make plans to get together with friends for some fun while you dine and donate to the Library.

This course introduces the sounds and scripts of Korean, basic grammar, greetings, numbers, days of the week, and more!
