With funding from a generous bequest from Marian Armstrong, The Friends of the Library proudly presents Our Voice: Celebrating the Coretta Scott King Illustrator Awards. This exhibit, curated by the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature, features 34 prints of illustrations from the award winners since 1973. These award-winning illustrations and children’s books highlight stories and figures from Black history, honoring the triumphs and struggles of African Americans throughout time. They also evoke the beautiful facets integral to the culture and fabric of our nation such as music, rhythm, and folktales. Learn more.

Watch our instructional video at home, then use Tinkercad, a free 3D modeling web app, to create your digital design and email it to us. We'll print it for you!* Age 12 and up. Please register to receive the video link by email on February 16 and indicate your color preference.

*Prints must be submitted no later than February 23. Print time is limited to a 3-hour maximum print time and a single-color print per person. Objects exceeding this print time may be reduced in size. The colors available are blue, red, orange, and yellow. Please note, 3D printing takes time—we will contact you to pick up your creation when it is ready. The Library’s 3D printer policy applies.
