AIDS Memorial Quilt Panel Exhibit

The AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display from November 10–12 at the Indiana Memorial Union in Alumni Hall. This event will help commemorate the lives affected by AIDS-related complications while also bringing HIV education and awareness to the Monroe County community. While the quilt is on display, IU will also be providing free HIV testing and educational workshops. 30 sections of the AIDS Memorial Quilt will be displayed at the Indiana Memorial Union, the Student Health Center, and the Monroe County Public Library from November 9–12. See the full schedule of events surrounding the exhibit.

This exhibit is in partnership with the IU Student Health Center.

MCPL Winter Food Drive

Help fight hunger in Monroe County. Non-perishable donations will be accepted at the Downtown Library and Ellettsville Branch from November 12–20. All donations will benefit Hoosier Hills Food Bank. Additionally, for patrons who have fees on their account, MCPL will forgive $1 for every item donated—just let a staff member know.

Join us for a conversation with Angela Jackson-Brown, an award-winning writer, poet, and playwright who serves as an Associate Professor in the Creative Writing program at Indiana University. Jackson-Brown's play, Trailer Park Love Story, will debut in Birmingham, AL in spring 2023. Her other plays have appeared at various theatres throughout Indiana, including the Indiana Repertory Theatre, The Indyfringe Theatre, Storefront Theatre, and Muncie Civic Theatre. She is the author of Drinking From a Bitter Cup, House Repairs, When Stars Rain Down, and The Light Always Breaks. Recently, she was awarded the Alabama Library Association Prize in Poetry, was named a finalist for the David J. Langum, Sr. Prize in American Historical Fiction, and was shortlisted for the Indiana Author’s Award in Fiction. All ages.
