Calling all youth artists! For Youth Art Month, we're challenging you to create and submit an original 2D work of art based on the theme of our upcoming summer reading program: Camp Myth! For this theme, draw your favorite mythical beast or hero. You can even make up your own!

The winning artwork will be made into a collectible summer reading prize bookmark. Entries should be 3x7 inches. Starting March 1, you can stop by the Downtown Library children's information desk, the Ellettsville Branch, or the Bookmobile to grab a template, if needed. When you're finished, drop your entry off at any MCPL location by March 31 to enter.
Make sure your entry has the following information written legibly on the back: name, age, title of your artwork, MCPL location that you regularly visit (Downtown, Ellettsville, or Bookmobile), and contact information (including email address and/or telephone number). Ages birth–12.
Sonic the Hedgehog Movie Marathon

Slow down with a movie marathon featuring your favorite blue hedgehog! We'll show Sonic the Hedgehog (2020) at 11 AM. Following the film, we'll take an intermission with some refreshments before our 2 PM showing of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022). Both movies are rated PG. All ages.
VITAL English Language Group: Conversation with Shane Tang

New English speakers will practice everyday language skills in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. Learners will enjoy friendly conversation, learn about daily life in the U.S., gain confidence, and meet new people from around the world.

Baby Play

Play, learn, and get to know other parents. We'll have sensory toys and other manipulatives to facilitate a fun time for all. There will also be an opportunity to talk about baby health, safety, postpartum care, and literacy with Tandem Birthing Center's Blythe Angle. Ages birth–2.

AARP Tax Help

AARP tax volunteers will be at the Downtown Library February 6–April 14 on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Assistance will be available on a first come, first served basis using a sign-up sheet that will be located near the second floor information desk.
