Dine out for the Friends of the Library at the Uptown Cafe! Enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner from 8 AM–9 PM. Just show your flyer or mention that you're dining out for the Library, and Uptown Cafe will donate 20% of your bill to the Friends of the Library to help make all of our amazing Library programs possible.

New English speakers will practice everyday language skills in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. The Book Club is reading A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle this session. Contact VITAL for help accessing this title. 

Learning begins with curiosity and wonder. With hands-on workstations, your young scientist will strengthen their independent math and comprehension skills as you investigate science topics together. Ages 3–6.

Come hang out and try new hands-on DIY projects as you learn new crafting skills each month! Supplies will be provided. Ages 7–12.

Join Monroe County farmers, vendors, and neighbors to learn about how to incorporate local seasonal vegetables into delicious meals. This program will offer a hands-on demonstration of local recipes and will provide information about how to receive free local food resources. The Teaching Kitchen will be stocked with local ingredients sourced by People's Cooperative Market and funded by the USDA Local Food Purchasing Assistance Cooperative Agreement Grant. Age 8 and up. Please register. All attendees must sign a waiver; you can download and sign it prior to the program, or you can sign one of the copies we'll have on-site.

New to Dungeons & Dragons? Already a seasoned adventurer? Drop in for an ongoing D&D game at the Library. We'll make characters and go on new adventures every two weeks. Ages 9–12. Please register for each session you'd like to attend.

This information session includes an overview of adult literacy and English language learning, opportunities for training, a tour of VITAL resources,  and the expectations of volunteers, learners, and staff involved. Completing an orientation session is mandatory before volunteering in VITAL.
