Phonological & Phonemic Awareness
Tuesday, October 17, 2023
5:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Before children learn to read print, they need to learn to identify and manipulate sounds in words and sentences. These foundational skills are predictors of future reading success. Early, fun, pressure-free practice is a great way to get your young children off to a strong start building the skills they will need to develop lifelong literacy.
In this workshop, we'll discuss the components of phonemic and phonological awareness and how they build upon each other toward reading. We'll also practice some simple games and activities that will be great to do with children in a home setting or while riding in the car. Recommended for caregivers of children ages 3-6. Please register.
