People's Abundant Kitchen: Hyperlocal Cooking Series

Join People's Cooperative Market farmers, vendors, and neighbors to learn about how to incorporate local seasonal ingredients into delicious meals. This program will offer a hands-on demonstration of local recipes and will provide information about how to receive free local food resources. The Teaching Kitchen will be stocked with local ingredients sourced by People's Cooperative Market and funded by the USDA Local Food Purchasing Assistance Cooperative Agreement Grant. All attendees must sign a waiver; you can download and sign it prior to the program, or you can sign one of the copies we'll have on-site. Age 8 and up. Please register.

Dine Out for the Library at FARMbloomington on Tuesdays, February 13 and 15, and Thursdays, February 20 and 22. Enjoy a set three-course dinner for $30 (not including tax, tip, or beverage), and FARM will donate $15 to the Friends of the Library to help support Library programming. Each dinner will include salad to start and a cobbler for dessert, as well as your choice of two entrees: a vegetarian pasta dish or a pork, beef, and bison meat loaf with mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes. Gluten-free and other dietary needs may be accommodated. 

Make your reservation by completing this form to choose your preferred date, and to let us know your preference for the meatloaf or the pasta dinner. Arrive by 6 PM to enjoy a delicious meal and a fun night out with friends.

Books & Bites combines a book club with a potluck! Each club meeting will feature a different theme. Borrow a cookbook from one of our branches or our eBook collection on that theme and prepare a recipe to bring to the Library and share. We'll eat tasty dishes while discussing the cookbooks we used for that night's meal. Participants are encouraged to bring their own plates and cutlery to cut down on waste. Please note that dishes may be unable to accommodate dietary restrictions. Age 18 and up. Please register.
