People's Abundant Kitchen: Hand Pies with The Hub

This program, a joint effort of People’s Cooperative Market and Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, will offer a hands-on demonstration of individual hand pies filled with preserved and locally grown produce, and will provide information about how to receive free local food resources. The Teaching Kitchen will be stocked with local ingredients sourced by People's Cooperative Market and funded by the USDA Local Food Purchasing Assistance Cooperative Agreement Grant. Age 8 and up. Please register. All attendees must sign a waiver; you can download and sign it prior to the program, or you can sign one of the copies we'll have on-site.

Looking for something creative to do for the holiday season? Knit or crochet a hat or scarf for a cause! Drop in to see what yarn and knit/crochet supplies are available—first come, first served. There will also be resources available to find a pattern that's right for you. Once you finish your pattern, items can be donated to Beacon by dropping them off at the Downtown Library. All ages.

Community Toy Swap

Donate any toy(s) in good condition to the Downtown Children's Department from Saturday, November 25 to Friday, December 1 to receive first access to the toy swap. Return to the Downtown Library on Saturday, December 2 to shop for new (to you) toys! All ages.

Look for Santa to arrive by fire truck at 9:30 AM, then follow him to the Ellettsville Branch. Meet Santa and get a free photo and a toy (courtesy of Main Street, Inc.). There will also be a breakfast at the Ellettsville Masonic Lodge (201 N. Sale Street, Ellettsville) at 8 AM and crafts at various Sale Street locations from 9 AM–12 PM. The Ellettsville Branch will open early at 9 AM for this event. All ages.
