Green Peeps Book Club: An Immense World

Downtown Library
Meeting Room 1B
Join this book club to discuss nature-focused reads each month. You'll also learn how to become more ecologically-minded through activities and speakers designed to enhance our reading. This month, we'll be reading An Immense World by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Ed Yong. We'll also be joined by WildCare Inc. and one of their opossum Education Ambassadors. Age 18 and up. Please register.

Summary:
"The Earth teems with sights and textures, sounds and vibrations, smells and tastes, electric and magnetic fields. But every kind of animal, including humans, is enclosed within its own unique sensory bubble, perceiving but a tiny sliver of our immense world. In An Immense World, Ed Yong coaxes us beyond the confines of our own senses, allowing us to perceive the skeins of scent, waves of electromagnetism, and pulses of pressure that surround us. We listen to stories of pivotal discoveries in the field, while looking ahead at the many mysteries that remain unsolved."
